Job descriptionRebuilding the plant team :
-address the high absenteeism rates among operators and provide training and cross-training.
- get the plant management team (production, supply chain manager, process & reliability engineers, quality) as well as the team leaders up to the required level
-create a more facts&figures and results driven attitude within the plant management team, including the monitoring of KPI and interpretation of Power BI reporting
- coach and train the team leaders to fully assume their roles.
- optimize and stabilize the organizational changes resulting from the recently launched new products.

Admin:
- further implement the performance dialogue (Performance Control System) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
-further develop, describe, and monitor the operation of stock movements in the current ERP 
- establish, document, monitor, and adjust the necessary agreements throughout the organization.

Financial: 
-achieve financial targets based on productivity, labor costs, volume, waste, and stock adjustments

New Product Development: 
-implement the roadmap with improved products, which has a (+/- 20% cost savings and improved taste objective) and bring the modified products to market

Stakeholder Management: 
-bring internal clients, and specifically their buying departments, closer to spreads in order to achieve the successful sale of the improved products

New ERP implementation;
-assist in the ongoing preparations for the switch to SAP which is to be implemented from November onwards, which are being driven by a separate team of colleagues (ICT and Operations).  Focus for the Plant Manager ad interim is however on all other aspects mentioned above.Profile
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree preferably in (electro-mechanical) engineering, complemented by at least 5 years of experience in a managerial position
  • Proven experience in a production/packaging environment
  • Proven experience in supply chain management
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and number skills, with the ability to define and analyze relevant KPI and establish dashboards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a coaching leader style, installing a sense of harmonious collaboration within the site and the rest of the organization
  • Team player who can liaise well with colleagues from other services, such as procurement, engineering, maintenance, planning and finance as this is a matrix organization
  • Able to liaise well with the internal clients (retail brands) for the spreads and therefore also having a good commercial sense
  • Hands-on manager who is close to the shop floor and the operations
  • Knowledge of both French & Dutch (oral and written), as well as a good basis in English.
Organisation and department description

Our client is looking for an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to run the overall operation of their recently built and modern (vegetable, meat and fish based) spreads production site.  As Plant Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the overall efficiency improvement of the site, managing a team of approx. 40 co-workers. Your expertise in production processes, supply chain, continuous improvement and people management will be essential in achieving the goals and standards for this production site.

You report to the Division Manager.

This is a challenging Interim Management assignment, for an estimated period of 6 months, either fulltime or 4 days/week.  The objective of the client is to be able to integrate plant management for two of their sites into one Plant Manager role after this transition assignment.  .
