They are looking for a reliable, hands-on, and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to oversee the accounting function of our growing and transforming business operations. .
You will be responsible for the full accounting, tax, and statutory reporting cycle across our Belgian entities, ensuring compliance with Belgian GAAP, tax regulations, and Group reporting requirements. You will supervise one Accounting Assistant and work closely with an external accounting firm, auditors, and payroll providers.
Profiel- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within an SME or international group environment
- Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting standards, VAT legislation, and statutory
- reporting requirements
- Experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes
- Experience interacting with auditors, tax advisors, and external accounting firms
- Experience with Exact Online is considered an asset
- Experience in a multi-entity environment is a strong plus
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Accurate, proactive, and hands-on approach
- Able to work independently and organize priorities effectively
- Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English; knowledge of French is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across different functions and countries

Aanbod
A 12-month assignment for an independent manager with strong financial and accounting skills. This assignment is likely to be extended after this initial period. Fulltime presence is required at the initial stage, hybrid working is feasible, but will most likely be limited to 1 day/week.
